About HAT

H&T Group Plc engages in the business of pawn broking, gold purchasing, retail of jewelry, cheque cashing, unsecured lending and other related services. It operates through the following segments: Pawnbroking, Gold Purchasing, Retail, Pawnbroking Scrap, Personal Loan, and Other Services. The Pawnbroking segment provides loan secured against a collateral product, which include precious metals, gold, diamonds and watches. The Gold Purchasing segment purchases the goods for cash on the spot. The Retail segment offers cash for new or second-hand jewelry purchased from third parties by the Group. The Pawnbroking Scrap segment includes all other proceeds from gold scrap sales other than those reported within Gold Purchasing. The Personal Loans segment is involved in unsecured lending activities. The Other Services segment is composed of third-party cheque encashment, buyback, foreign exchange currency service, western union commission and prepaid debit card product. The company was founded by Charles James Thompson and Walter Harvey on July 1, 1897 and is headquartered in Sutton, the United Kingdom.
