About BDEV

Barratt Developments Plc is the UK's largest residential property developer. The company engages in acquiring and developing land, planning, designing, and constructing homes under three distinct brands, Barratt Homes, David Wilson Homes, and Barratt London.

Each brand focuses on constructing affordable housing, first-time buyer homes, as well as more luxurious properties throughout England, Scotland, and Wales. However, the group also owns a subsidiary called Wilson Bowden Developments that specialises in commercial property such as retail & leisure facilities, office space, industrial sites, as well as town centre regeneration projects.

In 2021, the group completed 17,243 new homes, with prices ranging from £70,000 to over £1m. 67% of these projects were 3- & 4-bedroom houses, with 13% being affordable homes.

Investors should balance this risk with the potential reward before making an investment decision.

Yes. Barratt Development shares pay a cash dividend at an average 44% payout ratio. Dividends were temporarily cancelled in 2020 due to the pandemic but resumed in 2021. The stock has one year of consecutive dividend growth.
